ATTORNEY PROFILE

Ed Ramp

East Brunswick, New Jersey, Family Law Attorney

Ed Ramp has been in practice for 32 years—27 of them in family law. In that time he has built up enormous expertise with all aspects of marital law, an invaluable asset to his clients and his colleagues.

Years of experience have made Ed a very careful listener. He understands that his clients have the details that can make a case, and he wants to be certain to elicit them. That is one of the ways that Ed is meticulous in preparing his cases.

In addition to family law, Ed has a significant store of knowledge about real estate law. Over the years he has been involved in a vast number of purchases, sales, and refinancings. Ed consistently goes the extra mile for his clients. If, for example, a family needs to be in their house by a certain date so their children can start school on the first day, Ed will be sure to make the date.

Ed's areas of expertise also extend to wills and estate planning, as well as Workers' Compensation and Social Security law.

Ed is open and forthright, giving his clients an accurate assessment of their cases. He also is careful to keep his clients fully informed as their case progresses. That both enables them to understand exactly what is going on and ensures that there will be no surprises.

In addition to the foregoing qualities, Ed is both compassionate and caring. He understands that family law proceedings can be fraught with emotion and is very aware of his clients' feelings. His compassion also can be seen in a rule he has developed for divorce hearings: The children always come first.

Highly Regarded Family Law Attorney

Ed is held in very high regard by fellow attorneys and members of the New Jersey Supreme Court. He was named by the court as a panelist on the Middlesex County Family Court's Early Settlement Program. This statewide program enables respected, experienced family law attorneys to make recommendations in contested matrimonial cases, assisting both the litigants and the Court.

Ed also served for four years as a member of the District VIII Fee Arbitration Committee—two years as vice chair and two as chair. The fee arbitration committee hears complaints from litigants who think they've been overcharged by their attorneys. It also hears complaints from attorneys. The committee's decisions are binding.

Personal Injury Options for New Jersey Motorists

If someone is injured in an auto accident what are their rights? In New Jersey, we are governed by the terms of our automobile insurance policies. As owners and operators of vehicles in New Jersey, we are required to have Personal Injury Protection, commonly referred to as PIP coverage. Coverage for medical and other expenses for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians involved in accidents is provided as part of our PIP benefits.
